Keeping your company officers’ information up to date with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) is a legal obligation for all businesses in Singapore. Failure to do so can result in penalties and compliance issues.

Whether it's a change in an officer's name, contact details, or residential address, companies must ensure timely updates via BizFile+, Singapore’s online business filing portal.
1. What Changes Must Be Reported?
Any changes to the following particulars of company officers must be updated in BizFile+ within 14 days from the date of the change:
Name (Deed poll must be attached)
Identification Type
Identification Number
Residential Address
Nationality
Landline/Fixed Line Number
Mobile Number
Email Address
Note: There is no fee to file these changes, but late submissions may incur penalties.
2. Exemptions for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents
Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs)Â are not required to update ACRA directly for changes to:
Residential Address
Personal Name
Nationality
Identification Type and Number
Instead, BizFile+Â automatically retrieves these updates from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA). To ensure records remain accurate, company officers should notify ICA directly about these changes.
3. Registering a Contact Address for Privacy
For personal data protection, company officers have the option to register a contact address. This address will be displayed in ACRA’s public records instead of your residential address, enhancing privacy.
Key Points About Contact Addresses:
The contact address must be a location where you can be reached, such as your office or your corporate service provider’s office.
It must be within the same jurisdiction as your residential address.
P.O. Box addresses are not allowed.
Filing a contact address is mandatory and comes at no cost.
Despite the public display of your contact address, official correspondences from ACRA will still be sent to your residential address.
4. Penalties for Late Filing
Failing to update company officer particulars within the stipulated 14-day period can result in financial penalties and impact your company’s compliance status. Timely updates ensure your business avoids unnecessary fines and maintains good standing with ACRA.
